Hubbard Park in Shorewood is located on a 1,400 ft long strip of land between the Milwaukee River and the former Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, since converted into part of the Oak Leaf Trail. The park was named for William J. Hubbard, a former Village Board president. In the past, the areas has been the site of a resort, an amusement park, a terminal yard, cow barns, and for a time serviced as route for ice cut from the river. This site is situated near the Hubbard Park Lodge (visible in satellite image).
